This month we asked each staff member to submit one book, article, or podcast that has been especially meaningful to them in 2020. Here is what they said:
Anna: “I love this podcast, it is a go-to for me.”
Eva: “Normally I read a lot of variety of books, but this year it has been Isaiah, stretching my heart and mind to believe promised marvels and wonders.”
Yvonne: “Handel’s Messiah is always a gift, and especially this year! I also recommend the movie Just Mercy, based on the book by Brian Stevenson.”
Hanna: “This prayer has been really precious to me in 2020.”
Colleen: “I so enjoyed the thinking of what this poet shared.”
Jenna: This year I discovered the writings of Maria Skobtsova, or Mother Maria of Paris.
“However hard I try,” she said, “I find it impossible to construct anything greater than these three words, ‘Love one another’ —only to the end, and without exceptions: then all is justified and life is illumined, whereas otherwise it is an abomination and a burden.”
Heather: “Here are two books our family has really enjoyed this year: good for adults and kids!!”
