Women's Empowerment in Engitani
DESCRIPTION:
Ending poverty requires the creative leveraging and distribution of resources. At the women’s mill in the village of Engitani, Tanzania, women are learning to collectively address the problem of poverty in their community. Together they run a mill for the maize grown in surrounding areas, and collectively decide how to allocate the proceeds together. Usually their income goes towards school supplies for their children, such as pencils or paper, that they could not otherwise afford.
PLEASE PRAY FOR:
- for those with the skills to maintain the mill and keep it operational
- for the women of the mill cooperative to have the income they need to provide for their families
- for social innovator Naomi and her team, who mentor and disciple the women
